Today, I joined community members and leaders in Madison for their Hmong New Year celebration and to commemorate 50 years since many Hmong families first arrived in the U.S. It was a pleasure to see so many folks gathered, celebrating and giving thanks as we welcome a new year. 24 years ago, the attacks on 9/11 irrevocably changed the lives of so many across our nation and the world. Today we honor those who lost their lives, their loved ones, and the sacrifices made by first responders and everyday volunteers who risked everything for their community members and country.

My family's thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the Minnesota community today as they navigate this senseless act of violence. Wisconsin holds our Midwest neighbors in our hearts today.

Last night, I joined the Milwaukee community to kick off Mexican Fiesta weekend! It was fantastic to celebrate the incredible artists, vendors and organizers that put on this festival. It’s a wonderful weekend to be out in Milwaukee recognizing the valuable contributions of the Latino community.
Today we observe National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day to recognize the many Wisconsinites impacted by the opioid epidemic. Spreading awareness of fentanyl and the life-saving reversal drug naloxone is critical for our state. Let's take a moment today to remember those affected.
During my swing up north, I had the opportunity to stop by Menominee ECS to speak with Tribal Chairman Awonohopay and ECS staff about some of their innovative programming. The kids I met welcomed me with open arms (literally!) and were excited to show the group the projects they were working on.
Happy #NationalBratwurstDay! Did you know Wisconsin is home to the Bratwurst Capital of the World in Sheboygan? With a rich history of brats in Wisconsin, we know a good brat when we taste it!
Today I joined community leaders in West Allis today to speak to residents about the impacts of the recent flooding and how the community can help. I am so grateful to the community leaders, first responders, and neighbors who have worked tirelessly together as the Milwaukee area recovers.
In the face of limited funding, River Source has adapted and continued offering their critical support to the Chippewa Falls community. The preventive work of organizations like River Source is essential for the well-being of our communities, and we must keep investing in our kids and our families.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity visit the River Source Family Center team with Senator Jeff Smith to discuss their work providing programs and resources for children, families, and domestic violence prevention.
NEW: As the aerospace and aviation industry grows in Wisconsin, I have been appointed to serve on the National Lieutenant Governors Association Aerospace Committee. I look forward to joining my fellow lieutenant governors while representing the great state of Wisconsin.

Today, we remember the seven innocent lives lost 13 years ago in the horrific shooting at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple. This senseless act of violence and hate has no place in Wisconsin. My family and I are keeping everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts today.

It's Wisconsin Cherry Season!🍒

I stopped by Soren's Valhalla Orchards, to speak with their ownership about their busy cherry season in Door County, their critical work, and how the state can further support the agricultural industry. I even had the opportunity to use a cherry shaker!
It was a pleasure to visit Our Neighbors' Place last week to hear more about their crucial work in providing support, shelter, and housing services in Pierce and St. Croix counties. They offer multiple critical services to assist with basic needs for families and individuals. Thank you!
Another incredible business in the Northwoods! I had the honor of visiting Copper Crow Distillery to hear more about their use of fermented dairy whey and their award-winning whey-fermented gin. They are also the first Native-owned distillery in the nation, and the first to operate on a reservation!
I visited the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters' Madison Training Center to see the great work being done in Wisconsin's carpentry industry. NCSRCC has created a program that offers a debt-free apprenticeship program where members can earn a living wage and benefits from day one.
