The call for commentaries on our BBS paper is out now (deadline October 15): shorturl.at/Hu3Yu. In the paper (shorturl.at/4Rbk6), we provide recommendations and outstanding issues about designing experimental paradigms, analyzing data, and reporting the results of studies on unconscious processing 👇

Very glad to see this paper out, beautiful work by the great @francoisstock.bsky.social , @nfaivre.bsky.social , Michael Periera et al. It’s been a pleasure to play a (very small :-)) part in this project 🙏

Our #sEEG study is now published in Nature Communications: rdcu.be/eIkoG! 🧠
Key finding: We discovered neural evidence accumulation for visual perception that's independent of report preparation—recorded from >3000 channels across 3 experiments!

Super interesting! Congrats 🎉

It was a true pleasure to work on this piece with @niccolonegro.bsky.social. I learned A LOT about possible justifications for inferring consciousness in other systems/organisms. I hope you will enjoy it too!

BBS just issued the call for commentaries, and we would LOVE to get yours!! The deadline is October 15th, and the reference number is BBS-D-24-00489R2. Looking forward to hearing what you think about our suggestions for how to study unconscious processes!

📢Excited to share our paper, "Studying unconscious processing: Contention and consensus", published in BBS.
The paper is the result of a collaborative effort of 32 leading researchers in the field, from 10 different countries🌏

@ronyhirsch.bsky.social beautifully presents her new results on tilt adaptation in the visual periphery AND outside focused attention at #iVSS (work with Walter Sinnott-Armstrong) 👏👏👏

Over 2.5 million Israelis joined today’s anti-Netanyahu protests, organisers estimate. 300,000 are now in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square. (Haaretz)

One of the biggest advances in #consciousness science is using brain scans to detect awareness in unresponsive people, researchers say. I wrote for @nature.com about these techniques and the growing efforts to test animals and AI for signs of an inner life.

Insights from human brains might inform how scientists search for awareness in other animals and AI.

to the one and only, @nfaivre.bsky.social, and to all the co-authors of this complicated project 🙏 I learned A LOT while working on it

Looking forward to hearing what you think and receiving commentaries on this BBS paper!
We are all extremely excited about it. Huge thanks to @maorschreiber.bsky.social and @francoisstock.bsky.social for leading it so well, >>

Proud of the Israel Young Academy, that like many others in Israeli academia sends a clear message to our government - against which many of us have been protesting for 2 years: END THE WAR. Now

The war in Gaza must end. The humanitarian crisis is heartbreaking and tragic.
liadmudrik.bsky.social
Same here! Next time we will make it happen 💪
liadmudrik.bsky.social
Sure! And if you want, we’d love you to present it to our lab. Email me and we can set a time. Thanks!!
liadmudrik.bsky.social
Sounds very interesting - sorry I missed that! Is there any way to catch up?

Generally, an *excellent* symposium with @iberent.bsky.social , Clara Colombarto and @davidchalmers.bsky.social. Wonderful talks and discussions by all speakers 👏👏👏 #ASSC28

@matanmazor.bsky.social is giving now one of the best talks I’ve heard at ASSC meetings, suggesting that dualists are perceived as warmer and more ethical than physicalists, and that this might drive dualistic intuitions. Brilliant!!! #ASSC28
