When he said “To get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us.” I started crying. That’s the spirit we need in the face of fascism. That is the spirit of England and Denmark and the underground resistance fighters who fought the Nazis. That’s how you beat them. 😭
When she called out her daughter for not cleaning her room, I giggled. My younger son would totally act like that too, lol. And I sighed and teared up. Hope feels good. ❤️
1000% yes!!!! My childhood cat was an orange tabby. Before he died, I promised him I’d always have a male orange tabby in my house in his honor. Sam started my now lifelong love of cats. Current fulfillment of said promise is in my profile picture, our sweet boy, Murphy. ❤️
Too true. Even in coach, if you flew more than about 3 hours or so, you’d get more than peanuts or pretzels. Figuring out snacks or a meal for our cross country flights has been super annoying. Thankfully they still feed you internationally!
Shannon I have been a fan of your work since The Goose Girl was first published. (I once used the first sentence with a writing group for kids.) Thank you for using your voice to share this and for having the wherewithal to film them. Hopefully this poor mother can be reunited with her family soon.
Exactly. It’s why I can’t watch so many of the videos shared. Also, I love Shannon Hale, one of my favorite children’s authors. Her whole thread here is heartbreaking though.
One of my friends from college is my boys auntie. She is not related to me at all. Another friend from childhood is also an auntie. It’s what I call the dear friends who love my kids like they’re their own. 🤷♀️❤️
Yum! I may make our annual pumpkin harvest beef stew this week. Normally I make it on Halloween but since it’s a Friday and we typically do takeout on Friday I may just make it another day. It has cut up pumpkin, acorn squash and spices in it to make it different. Very cozy!
The owner opened the velvet rope and let me walk on 200 year old carpet and touch 200 year old furniture. That started my now lifelong love of historic homes and paved the way for my love of social history. The loss of all that at the White House breaks my heart. 2/2
Honestly what broke me was a picture of the destruction showing furniture still in the rooms. When I was in high school my parents and I had an unexpected chance to get a private tour of a historic home in Tennessee. (TLDR the one time it paid for them to be teachers!) 1/2
If Burgerville sides with ICE I will be devastated. They are my favorite fast food chain near where my parents’ live and I’ve loved them most of my life.
Not a single mom, but I hear you. I rage over messes from time to time too because *waves hands.* I’ve also started teaching my 14 year old to fold his own clothes. It’s a game changer! (When he does it. 🤦♀️) I hope you find peace this weekend!
I think the Epstein estate should keep giving documents and the Dems should release what they can. Make Johnson squirm. Point out regularly what they’re covering up. (I don’t know if this is at all possible though.)
While I’m still skeptical of UDUB for educational reasons, this warmed my heart. This class at least clearly have the correct morals and values and understood the assignment. ❤️ 2/2
Whew, this made me tear up. One of my German exchange student friends in high school had an awful raise a Nazi salute to her when she was here. No one did anything. Her grandfather died saving her uncles from forced conscription by the Nazis. They didn’t support Hitler. 1/2
My dear friend, who was actually the one who pointed out I named my older son after you, is Mormon. She is one of the kindest people I know. I thought of Kirk’s assassination too and then my heart broke. That congregation didn’t deserve that. I’m heartbroken.
I’d have to ask my brother who lives in one of the inner suburbs outside of the city of Portland itself. Last I heard, all was peaceful save maybe some weeds in his yard. I can check with my older niece and she can send me pictures from her miles long walks with their dogs. 😂❤️
I had all my vaccines and so did my boys and husband. None of us have autism. ADHD for two of us, but no autism. Oh and the other son is a former 29 weeker so he was also at risk! 🤦♀️😡
You know what was one major sign that I had preeclampsia? When Tylenol didn’t work on my headache. This is not only foolish and disgusting and wrong, it could also be dangerous.
That’s my wedding anniversary. I will be remembering October 14th by celebrating my anniversary not remembering the legacy of a Man like Charlie Kirk. 🫡
I personally got super annoyed with the books when I reviewed one for an audiobook award and I think Belly should not be with either Fisher boy but I am curious how they ended it on screen so I’ll watch.
