Experimented with cloth physics mixed with shape keys on a stomach with prey (Ysabelle) inside it. It's okay, but very awkward to manage.

so, the concept of clothing damage and cloth physics can work. but, from what i know to try, there seems to be a ton of overhead to make it work...

then there's also having to wrangle cloth in general.

top halo is the old one I did by hand
bottom two are done with the cool shortcut of ALT + E + S in Blender which just lets you duplicate objects around the origin point. absurdly handy.

clair obscur was very much extremely good; story complete

played on hard, only put in 42 stat points before I stopped (things were already exploding,) didn't use any lumina point gains

only complaints I have are lack of indication of power level for enemies, and player damage balance
