Protip: if you're going to "completely disagree" with what I say in a video, try actually listening to what I say in the video first.

There is no greater example of a film being better than a book than Jaws.

A brilliant and pioneering film that has stood the test of time vs literal trash on paper.

Jaws is so bad, I'm shocked Benchley had a career.

Is it #bluebook or #booksky ?

Asking for myself.

46% of the books I read this year were translated works.

I'm seriously considering reorganizing my bookshelf by continent.

5 Reasons to STOP counting how many books you read in 2025.

1. It commodifies the reading experience

2. It becomes about the goal rather than the reading itself.

3. Encourages speed reading/shorter books.

4. Is an outcome not an action

5. Pressures you to finish books you're not enjoying

Finished Infinite Jest today.

It's an underrated book.

This year I've read books from:
Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Croatia, Spain, Germany, South Africa, China, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Iceland, Jamaica, Estonia, France, Israel. 50% of the books I've read are from women, I've read books from POC, indigenous Americans and people in the LGBTQ community.

Just saw a post that said your top ten favorite books for the year should include authors from marginalized communities.

So now it's not enough for people to read diversely, but their favorite books must come from specific categories.

This is how you alienate people from reading.

"I hate that book, the writing is so bad."

Wow, brilliant critique.

The most shocking thing about the latest Cormac McCarthy news is the volume of people who feel comfortable openly supporting child trafficking and grooming.

Currently reading The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.

Not entirely sure how I feel about it. It seems like it can't decide on what kind of book it wants to be.
