On Wednesday, Sept 17, 2025, the Bank of Canada reduced its target for the overnight rate by 25 basis points to 2.5%.
Further rate cuts are highly dependent on inflation's pace over the next few months. These factors may influence the last two rate dates of the year (October 29 and December 10):
