I'll die on this hill: We shouldn't call ourselves our dogs' "owners." We don't own dogs, we form symbiotic relationships with them. Dogs are pack animals and they see us as extensions of their packs--typically as a parent/elder. Your dog has the same emotional capacity as you, so be kind to them

As much as I hold conservatives responsible for our current political crisis, I also hold American moderates responsible. White moderates have a long history of refusing to accept when it's time to make changes, and I will not accept this inaction as a viable path forward.
