… and miss out on the expertise of brilliant scholars who’ve had enthusiasm & dedication stamped out of them, or who cannot properly commit to their temporary roles for needing to constantly look for new jobs, housing & be prepared to uproot again. Most of all, this is sad for society. What a loss.

So, so disheartening. Not just for current staff; or for all of us who have just finished PhDs and are starting out on our academic journeys in the hope there will ever be some semblance of a stable job in the future; or even for the students who will have larger class sizes, less attention… (1/2)
