Kirsten Dunst as Justine, Melancholia (2011)
Costume design by Manon Rasmussen/Mia Andersson

The further Justine descends into depression, the more the dress becomes undone. From put together, to nofrills, to soaked in the tub, her dress is a character all its own. Heartbreaking, thoughtfully done.
Elizabeth Taylor as Kay Banks, Father of The Bride (1950)
Costume design by Helen Rose and Walter Plunkett

My favourite detail is the peter pan collar hidden away among the draped fabric, lace, pearls, and florals. It is so extravagant, beautifully so. #elizabethtaylor #fashion
The finale gown! Romance, autumnal. It leads with fervor. Maggie’s off-the-shoulder, sweetheart neckline dress is praised for good reason. And, I think, intentionally a more relaxed fit after all of that running away.
Julia Roberts as Maggie Carpenter, Runaway Bride (1999)
Costume design by Albert Wolsky

Julia wears five wedding gowns total. The first four dresses were designed by Wolsky. The last, by Amsale Aberra. The first dress shown here is known as The Bell Dress (': #runawaybride #costumedesign
Karyn Parsons Rockwell as Hilary Banks, Fresh Prince (1990-1996)
Costume design by Judy Richman

Hilary is, undoubtedly, one of the greatest fashion icons of the nineties 💚 The structured look of the bodice melts into a dreamy skirt of tulle. A bouffant veil +a big, beautiful cross pendant. #fashion
The Parent Trap (1998)
Costume design by Penny Rose

A very pretty gown (its giving chewy marshmallow in the most complimentary of ways) is immediately brought to life with the addition of a top hat and veil. The whole look is elevated. It’s chic, it’s Elizabeth James. #theparenttrap
Lauren Bacall as Schatze Page, How To Marry a Millionaire (1953)
Costume design by William Travilla

Travilla designed Bacall’s mermaid gown out of lace, using sequins throughout the fabric. A sinamay hat takes the place of a veil. #howtomarryamillionaire #laurenbacall #fashion #costumedesign
Shari Headley as Lisa McDowell, Coming To America (1988)
Costume design by Deborah Nadoolman Landis

Designed by Landis, Lisa’s cotton candy daydream is full of tulle and sparkle. Her crown holds pearls and coral. Her bouquet - a symphony of orchids. An unforgettable princess. #costumedesign
Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews, Charmed (1998-2006)
Costume design by Eilish Zebrasky

Complete with lace overlay, ribbon, and cap sleeves. #charmed #pagematthews #fashion #costumedesign
Rachel McAdams as Mary, About Time (2013)
Costume design by Verity Hawkes

A 1950’s piece. Hawkes’ vision for Mary’s dress was to be something from a vintage shop, collected and worn without a second thought, no bridal fittings needed. #abouttime #costumedesign #fashion

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, SATC (2008) Costume design by Patricia Field

Carrie’s gown is Westwood’s Cloud Dress, from the fw2007 collection. It’s creamy silk duchess satin and ivory taffeta, featuring a two-tone skirt and a pointed bodice. #satc #costumedesign #westwood
