All those so-called checks and balances don't seem to have been enough to keep the greed of Republicans and their billionaire donors in check. The rich keep doing this again and again. Eventually they ALWAYS push the people too far.

Another dumb SCOTUS years ago came up with the fanciful notion that corporations were people. Even though they can't die, get cancer, or constipation, corporations have the same rights as other people. If Frankenstein had called his creation a corporation, would it have been less of a monster?

Of course, the Emperor has now voided whatever was left of Biden's IRA, ensuring that Americans will not be able to have the good things they'd hoped for. In a free-trade world, Americans could buy China's DYB, the world's most efficient EV, for 20K. Not settle for overpriced losers like Tesla.

Wonder if MAGA knows how China became the world's powerhouse in electronics? Cheap Chinese labor appealed to them, so Apple & other corporations poured billions into training a workforce now unrivaled in the world. The equivalent of 10 of Biden's Inflation Reduction Acts made China great.

The Republicans always take us to Opposite Land. They tell us that we have it so good while they rob us blind. From the reception they're getting at their own town halls, all the gerrymanders in the world can't save them come the midterms. But ICE & Hegseth's war fighters will most likely try.

I feel the same way about him. I love how he's able to trigger Trump. We need for him to keep doing it. But we need a president who'll loudly refuse to sacrifice the least powerful among us just to please "good" Republicans. That's why I lean toward Pritzker. He's not as pretty. That's also why.

In the old days, cabinet officers used to provide answers to questions from members of Congress. They'd have assistants sitting alongside them, whispering in their ear, if they were too lazy to make their own notes. Nobody ever refused to answer. Nobody used to shout insults at the questioner.
