You know the snow is bad if the Disney Store in Times Square is closed. Made it to my matinee of OEDIPUS. I hope this motherfucker (see what I did there) is worth it. But seriously, sending love to all the theater workers and actors who had to go to work today so people could be entertained.

I picked the wrong weekend to come to New York in terms of the weather, but TWO STRANGERS (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK) was just delightful, even if viewed while very cold and tired.

I'm kind of bored by the Oscars nominations though I am happy for SINNERS. (Michael B. Jordan better win, though I don't think he will.) But I do have a few thoughts. Kate Hudson absolutely deserved her nomination and Hugh Jackman would have deserved one too in a less crowded year.

I am watching ONLY YOU which had its TCM premiere last night and all 5 hosts introduced it and none of them had seen it before and some hadn't even heard of it. How dare they call themselves cinema fans.

I can't believe the shocking and horrific news about Rob Reiner. I just watched SPINAL TAP II last night. So many tragedies on what should have been a happy and festive weekend (Dick Van Dyke's 100th birthday and the first night Hanukkah).

I can see why people preferred the first WICKED film. The second one was shorter and felt longer, mostly because of the boring new songs, but overall I was happy with it. My biggest disappointment of both films is that Norbert Leo Butz didn't have a cameo.

I love a themed drink. These are the offerings at the AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER 20th anniversary concert. Though no cactus juice for some reason.

I got to NYC yesterday, election day, for a quick trip and so far I've seen OTHER, LIBERATION, and now RAGTIME, which all feels very appropriate for this week.

Today is the closing performance of PUNCH on Broadway. I haven't been in New York during the run, but I'm able to watch it today thanks to live stream (it's intermission now). This isn't the first show to do this, and I hope more limited runs will do this.

At the CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND 10(ish) year reunion concert, Rachel Bloom played the Showtime cast announcement video, and cut out the part about Santino Fontana (and thought no one would notice?). I love her, but it bothers me that she acts like he was never on the show. What happened there?
