I have been asking questions about MRI capacity, following cases from local residents. While there is money in the budget, it looks like it has to cover an awful lot of elements. It will be interesting to see how much is actually delivered. #LisaSmartMP #NHS #SteppingHill #Health

With the Labour Government announcing massive changes to the structure of policing across the country, I challenged the Home Secretary to look at the benefits of the police force matching the Greater Manchester boundaries and the local authorities and to make sure that is not lost in the changes.

Today marks Holocaust Memorial Day, marking the anniversary of the liberation of the former
Nazi concentration and death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. Antisemitism has been on the rise again, and it is vital that everyone pauses and speaks out against all forms of antisemitism, and tackle it head on.

I’m hearing from Citizens Advice that people in Stockport are being charged upwards of £1,000 by private companies for help with benefit forms, not knowing that free support is available. I want everyone to know their options. Here’s a quick outline from Citizens Advice of free help available.
