Book Review: “Crushmore” by Penn Badgley, Sophie Ansari, & Nava Kavelin
I may not be an OG Penn Badgley fan, but I am a fan of his now and that's what is important, right? I first found him while watching You on Netflix, so when I heard he was putting out a book, I was intrigued. Then, Gallery sent me a free copy and I had to dive in. Penn wrote…

I was a huge fan of Ali Hazelwood's first paranormal romance, Bride, and could not wait to get my hands on the second book, Mate. Does it live u to the hype?

Book Review: “Mate” by Ali Hazelwood
There are few times I've been livid at my phone for dying while I was reading a book, and even more rare for that to happen at one in the morning. Such was the case for Ali Hazelwood's first paranormal romance, Bride . Naturally, I was ecstatic to hear that she was publishing a sequel. I picked up Mate on audio through the PRH Audio program for booksellers because…

Book Review: “Secrets of the Blue Hand Girls” by Rowana Miller
As YallWest 2025 was getting started, I noticed a blue piece of paper on the ground that said something along the lines of 'open me' or 'read me'. I picked it up and it said to turn it in at the Sourcebooks booth for a free book. However, a publicist later let me know that the books didn't arrive for the event, but they'd send a copy of the book my way.

Gayle Forman apparently loves to write dead girl stories. In her latest release, #AfterLife, A teenager girl rides her bike home to find she's actually been dead for a while.

Book Review: “After Life” by Gayle Forman
I became familiar with Gayle Forman when her book, If I Stay became a movie a few years back. I enjoyed the movie, but never got around to reading the book. When I snagged an ARC of Gayle's latest book at an event, I decided this would be the one I started with reading. It just took me a year and I still did it by audio instead.

Book Review: “Death of a Pop Star: Vol 1” by Violet Karim
I'm a big K-Pop fan, so when Webtoon asked if I was interested in checking out a new graphic novel with idol vibes, I was intrigued. When it showed up with a photocard of the main character, I knew I was going to pick it up sooner than later. Death of a Pop Star: Volume 1 introduces us to a debut performer who is topping the charts.

Book Review: “Red Card” by Maren Moore
Sports romance is quite popular these days, and I love that authors are branching out and giving us more sports to fall in love with. I hadn't thought much about rugby as a sport for a good romance, but the fine team of Forever were singing this book's praises, and I trust them. So really, this is all their fault...

Hazbin Hotel Season two is coming to an end, but the show is shining a light on redemption. I talked to the cast and the show's creator about why the show is so poular in a world focused on cancel culture. Read their thoughts here:
Hazbin Hotel: How an animated show about redemption is finding its footing in our cancel culture-focused world
Season two of Amazon Prime’s smash hit adult animated series Hazbin Hotel is bringing more attention to the show’s major question: is redemption possible? It’s a topic that seems to go against current culture and its obsession with canceling people for large and small problems alike. At the end of season one, Sir Pentious (Alex Brightman) sacrificed himself to save Cherri Bomb (Krystina Alabado) and appeared in Heaven, redeemed.

If you haven't read the previous books, might want to skip this until you are caught up. I highly recommend catching up on this series because it is my most favorite manga.

Book Review: “Coldwire” by Chloe Gong
One of the hot ARCs people were desperate to snag at YallWest 2025 is the new adventure from Chloe Gong, Coldwire. Chloe's first two series were adaptations of Shakespeare, so there's a lot of curiosity on how she'll handle her first original series. Coldwire is a dual POV cyberpunk story, partially set in a reality called Downcountry and partially set in a virtual world called Upcountry.
