Isekai Anime Title or Jonathan Richman Song Title: A Quiz

Which of the following are the titles of isekai anime series, and which are the titles of songs by Jonathan Richman?
I used to listen to so many podcasts but about half of them became unlistenable during the last 5 years and the other half just stopped putting out more than an episode per year. All that I've got left is "Age Of Napoleon" and "A History of Rock and Roll in 500 Songs"

I had to sign a birthday card for one coworker, and a sympathy card for another coworker, and it was more difficult than it should have been to keep them distinct in my mind and not write "Happy birthday on the loss of your father" in both cards

Working weird hours today (10-6), I have an hour left before I leave and I'm not at all ready to go. Can I wear my pajamas to the library just this once

Student came up to the circ desk very concerned that an ILL'd book had a torn page and some pen marks in the margin. "I know this is a really, really old book, but..." It was from 1974

I didn't discover HMHB until like 20 years ago, at the height of the MP3 blog era, when I heard their cover of "Song To The Siren" -- still my favorite version of that song. I loved "Trumpton Riots" for years but I didn't know until today that Trumpton isn't an actual place in the Liverpool suburbs
Blog update: Did Half Man Half Biscuit - indie chart toppers in March 1986 - have anything to do with the Oi subgenre Punk Pathetique? Did it matter? And how did the "Caretaker's Band" at a Liverpool recording studio become cult sensations with a jokey tape anyway?
76. Half Man Half Biscuit - The Trumpton Riots (Probe Plus)
All the singles to top the NME Indie Charts since its launch in 1981, complete with an overview of the other music in the charts each week.

Haven't had a "day off" since September and I have a lot to do through the holiday weekend so I'm going to take it easy today. Video games, LP records, things of that nature
at the office on a Saturday. I would rather be at home playing video games. However if I were at home I would not be playing video games because I still have another 3 weeks of paying work that I need to do on weekends

2015 was a wild fucking year, personally speaking

I didn't say this a couple weeks ago when mole posted it, but it seems like anyone who writes a manifesto might succeed in becoming problematic... Valerie Solanas
A problematic figure is Osama bin Laden, e.g., his letter to the American people is a problematic text, at least in a certain context. Makes some good points; paid for the killing of a lot of civilians. That's a Problem

Somebody bought a Cars LP box set from me, for $155, at 1 AM. They need to have a word with their doctor about adjusting their prescriptions
I want to say a quick word of appreciation for the folks with ambien prescriptions who order things from my discogs storefront every night between 1 and 5 AM

I'm not a workplace-bathroom-selfie kind of person, so you'll just have to take my word on this, but I'm looking really good today. Lean and grizzled, tough, a librarian you wouldn't want to cross

Zōjirushi car
I'm motoring down the highway in my 2025 象印車, steam pouring out of every seam and vent in the car, both the windshield and my glasses are fogged to 100% opacity

Hey, hey, wake up! It's an emergency! I've been thinking about the lyrics from "Box of Rain" and I think I almost figured out what they mean
Maybe I should call my sweetheart and give them a heads up, like -- thanks for putting up with me talking about anime every day for the last three years, but how would you feel if I also started telling you Grateful Dead facts every morning before you've even had breakfast

If you need a little pick-me-up in the middle of the day, think of your least favorite coworker. And then picture them at home, at the dinner table, complaining about you to their spouse

When I say "back to blogs" this is what I'm talking about!
We return with another amazing tale of video games past!

This time: The international story of Taito. Learn about the colorful Ukranian founder, the origin of the modern crane game, and how a peanut vending company redefines the world of video games.

@rookscript.bsky.social it's funny but I realize now that I never really learned stroke order for Roman letters, even though they tried to teach me (at the Montessori elementary school I attended in the 1980s). I know more about stroke order for kanji and kana than I do for my ABCs
