I remember these books. I even have one in French.
On Saturday I made sure we had a chance to stop off at The Cat and Custard Pot pub for a drink on our pilgrimage on the Royal Kentish Camino. It is a charming pub has lots of memorabilia highlighting it's connection with WWII pilots.

Yesterday's Creative Pilgrimage and a chance to see inside At Oswald's church at Paddlesworth. What a charming little church in the Kent Downs National Landscape and Cross Channel Geopark.

Yesterday we (the Creative Pilgrims) set off on our third pilgrimage - The Royal Kentish Camino from Folkestone to Canterbury. Here we are walking towards The Downs and the Cross Channel Geopark with views of the white cliffs.@kentdownsnl @geoparktransmanche #pilgrimange #royalkentishcamino

I had an interesting afternoon looking at the graffiti in Canterbury Cathedral yesterday. The Hear Us exhibition runs until 18 January and is worth a visit. Seeking out the older graffiti makes for a fun exploration of this historic building.

Walked past this cafe on the way to the tourist information to collect leaflets and just had to come back and have a coffee. I have an interesting haul of leaflets for Monday's lecture. Looking forward to filling in the gaps in my knowledge of Canterbury.

Back to uploading photos from this summer's trip. We spent a week in Vannes for research and visiting old haunts. First stop was @cartron_gourmandises in Rue Vincent. My favourite in Vannes.

Our final night on Belle Île en Mer and our last visit to @apero_therapie and a real treat as we drank one of the last bottles of La Morgat beer. Sadly the brewery and tap room closed down before our visit in 2024. We were sad to say goodbye to @apero_therapie as their hospitality was exceptional.
This summer's trip to Brittany included a 4 hour stopover in Paris. Instead of taking the Metro between Gare du Nord and Gare Montparnasse we decided to walk between the two stations. The journey was full of surprises including these bees in the Jardin du Luxembourg.

17 days until summer. Here is a mass dial on a church on the Way of St Martin between Dover and Canterbury. Can you find one on your slow pilgrimage?

18 days until summer and I am remembering my summer trip to Amiens a few years ago. The hortillonnages market gardens are good for a stroll followed by a coffee and macaron d'Amiens.

There are lots of wild areas in my garden for hedgehogs. However, they are in the doghouse for digging up my seedlings!
Day 2 of #30dayswild with @thewildlifetrusts and I found some ragged robbin on my morning walk.

I love the peace and quiet of The Kent Downs National Landscape. This video was from one of my Slow Walks for Artists.

This is a good idea. Thank you for sharing.
22 days until summer and I am already thinking about the lovely garlic on French markets. This summer I will be visiting some of the locations in Journey as well as doing a couple of smaller pilgrimages.

Today I walked the route of the next Slow Walks for Artists from Hastingleigh church. A rural idyll.

21 days until summer. Here is a view from Clougha Pike in the Forest of Bowland near Lancaster. It was a tough climb up but the views were amazing.

The route has been split into 6 walks for those wanting to do a slow pilgrimage or the route can be walked in 1 to 2 days.
Anyone planning a pilgrimage in Kent this summer can get a copy of The Way of Saint Martin at the current price of £7.99. Due to paper costs the price will be rising at the end of the week.

I love walking in the Kent Downs and this is from one of my favourite walks at Bodsham. At every turn the landscape doesn't cease to amaze.
