I understand, what you mean and in most cases I agree. However, seen from a European standpoint, Reagan is still the man, who defeated the USSR. I dont know, what he did in the USA; but from my point of view ....

Ich denke es gibt ein Unterschied. In DE wird die Wiedervereinigung als ein gütiger Geschenk von Gorbi und es wird immer wieder betont, dass DE im WWII Rusland so viel böses angetan hat. In andere Teile von Europa wird eher verstanden, dass die UdSSR 1989 einfach pleite war.

Scholz var jo udtryk for to udbredte trossætninger i Tyskland: 1. "Rusland er uovervindeligt" 2. "Europa vil altid være afhængig af USA". Begge er naturligvis forkerte; men de er meget indgroede i tysk kultur.
