Maybe the answer is that all yellow cards get reviewed too. Game doesn't have to stop; VAR can just review as play goes on, and the card can be null and void if necessary. And if it's a double yellow, then play can stop momentarily. Which it does anyway.

Not that VAR is totally reliable either. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I know flopping and clutching and rolling are all part of the game, but I hate it. So much. Especially when it results in a red card that completely changes the game. #Barca #ChampionsLeague #BAROLY

Please, if nothing else, can someone just leak the script? Please please. I NEED IT.
whelp, I’ll be thinking about the Steven Soderbergh movie about Ben Solo until the day I die, I guess. we could’ve had it all.

One of the negative side effects of this is that garbage like Newsmax and others like it are getting classified as "news organizations," giving them a legitimacy they in no way deserve.

Seeing a discussion of stanch vs staunch and wondering why some folks don't consider staunch as acceptable for "to check or stop the flowing of"?

It's literally listed as an MW variant? What am I missing?
Pedri actually out at the 68th minute. Still should have been rested but at least did not play the full match.
Wow, we really jumped right from Hades-hot-October straight into low-tire-pressure season. I’m here for it. 🍁
Just finished up working on an adult romance with a main couple who had the absolute best tension and chemistry! And it was a setting I wasn't super familiar with, so I learned a lot too! Anyway, A+ storytelling. I hope it finds an audience. #amediting #amcopyediting #amproofreading
Amidst all the truly awful stuff, they are also just so...gross. On the surface and at their core, they are just so grasping and grotesque and obvious. It's as embarrassing as it is disturbing.
Yeah, I’m definitely going to give it a shot. If nothing else, the music alone might carry it.
I think watching the Billy Joel documentary ruined me for movies like the new Springsteen one starring Jeremy Allen White. Like, just give me the real thing.

Though, I did watch and enjoy A Complete Unknown, so who knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️
The homily was great, the whole "Go and do likewise" passage about showing mercy. I should have felt reassured at the message but instead was incredibly uneasy. Like even in the most progressive of atmospheres (for Catholics anyway) there seems to be a definite shift toward performative extremism.
I go to Catholic mass 1–2x a yr w/ my dad. Today (same church & time as 1 year ago) I noticed a huge uptick in women wearing head coverings. And an unusual number of folks dropping to their knees for communion. I realize these are not *new* things, but the number of people performing like this was.

Second half much less joyous. Oof.

Nonetheless #forcabarca
What a first half though. A (nervy) joy to watch.

This would be fantastic! #publishing
As "no response means no" takes hold at publishing houses, it's long past time to stop leaving authors' careers in limbo and reform industry submission procedures. Here's a modest proposal at a Publishing Submission Bill of Rights.
A publishing submission Bill of Rights
A modest proposal. The submission process in the publishing industry these days is increasingly broken. Many literary agents have long had a “no response means no” policy on query letters, but now the...

And I see her proving this point yet again today. Sigh.
Sergio Gomez is going to have nightmares about those nutmegs #barcarealsociedad
That Emma Watson interview and how J/K Rolling in the Deep responded is a great example of why you don't try to appease (or whatever it was Emma thought she was doing there) people like that. The rot goes too deep.
This deserves more attention. As does the (as of this moment) single reply.

Pure gold, both of them.
