We're celebrating an incredible milestone: the #MCEDAct is now the most-supported bill in Congress!

If passed, it could help #EarlyDetection tests reach more people who need them.

With 386 cosponsors across the House and Senate, there's overwhelming bipartisan support to pass this bill.

@acscan.bsky.social urges Congress to pass the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act. #MCED tests could be a major breakthrough in reducing the cancer burden—but only if people can access them.

Did you know that scientists are developing new, simple blood tests that will screen for dozens of cancers at once?

Diagnosing cancer early, when it’s easier to treat, can save lives. That’s why these multi-cancer early detection (#MCED) tests hold so much promise. (1/2)

11,000 Mainers are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in 2025. Grateful to Sen. Susan Collins & ME lawmakers who rejected cuts to affordable care. Now is the time to strengthen our commitment to future cures & protect lifesaving research & prevention programs. www.pressherald.com/2025/08/08/m...

"No one is safe from the life-threatening harms this bill inflicts, not even cancer patients. It will increase health care costs for everyone, increase medical debt for families already struggling and undo decades of progress in improving cancer outcomes." - @llacasseacscan.bsky.social (2/2)

Today, the U.S. Senate passed a bill that will kick nearly 12 million off health coverage—the majority of whom are on Medicaid—and make it more difficult and expensive to obtain and keep health insurance.

The House will vote on the bill later this week. (1/2)

A major win today in reducing the cancer burden! Any out-of-pocket costs can be a deterrent to accessing proven cancer screening which can be the difference between life and death.

In a victory for the fight against cancer, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the ACA's provision that requires most private insurers cover lifesaving preventive care services without cost sharing. ACS CAN led 32 partner organizations in applauding the decision: www.fightcancer.org/releases/mor...

Cuts have consequences. And the consequences of this bill will be devastating—people across the country, including cancer patients, will live sicker and die sooner.

Congress is going too far, too fast, without all the facts.

The cost of health care is hurting everyone. But instead of working to lower health care costs, Congress is moving a bill forward that will increase costs for everyone, even those with private insurance.

Affordable health care is at risk. These cuts will hurt millions of people, including cancer patients, and drive up health care costs for everyone. We can’t let this happen.

3/3 Punishing those with serious illnesses like cancer by cutting their health care will only lead to worse health outcomes and increased costs. @acscan.bsky.social urges the Senate to reject these harmful cuts and stand up for those who depend on #Medicaid to survive.
llacasseacscan.bsky.social
2/3 The bill accelerates implementation of work requirements to Dec. 2026, putting vulnerable people at risk of losing coverage in critical moments of their treatment plans. The majority of recipients who can work already do & work requirements have repeatedly failed in states. This is unacceptable.

1/3 The House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding by an est. $715 billion. If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable, quality health care to at least 8.6 million people according to the Congressional Budget Office.
