Hi, we are Llamau 👋 Did you know? Last year 6,420 young people presented as homeless in Wales. That's 6,420 children and teens who don't even have a bed to call their own 💔

We're on a mission to change that. Follow us and share - together we'll end youth homelessness in Wales for good!
Being homeless affects every part of life. Sleeping outside or moving between sofas is exhausting, and mental health issues can easily take hold💔 Facing all this while studying or working is more than most could handle.

Your support changes their lives: https://www.llamau.org.uk/case-studies
If you are aged 16-24 and without a safe place to spend the night, the Youth Homeless Helpline is here for you. We are open through the night and throughout the weekend. The number to call is: 08000 495 495

We’re proud to be joining with campaigners for tenants, homelessness and debt advice charities, landlord organisations and others in calling on the UK Government to #unfreezeLHA at the Budget. See the article here: inews.co.uk/news/housing...

Homelessness is not inevitable.
It is preventable. We just need the right support is in place, at the right time, for the right people.
But this is only the beginning.
We still need action on the root causes of homelessness — poverty, lack of affordable housing, domestic abuse, and trauma.

That’s why we welcome the Welsh Government’s draft Homelessness and Social Housing Allocation Bill, focusing on early intervention.
Its repeal, confirmed earlier this year and due to take full effect by spring 2026, marks a shift in how society views homelessness.

For too long, the Act sent a harmful message that poverty is a crime, and that people without a home belong in handcuffs instead of housing. That message ends now.
🧵 After 200 years, the Vagrancy Act is finally being repealed.

This outdated law criminalised rough sleeping and begging in England and Wales, punishing people simply for being homeless. #WorldHomelessDay

Llamau can provide this more tailored approach to help women rebuild their lives, enable independence and self-determination. But only with your help 💪
For those who have endured gender-based abuse or violence, generic temporary accommodation isn’t always the answer.

Gender-specific housing options for women need to include:
🏠 Safe, women-only environments
🏠 Support for independence
🏠 24/7 staffed housing, self-contained units & flats
