You are probably too young to remember what Daims were called in the late fifties/early sixties. If I remember rightly they were marketed in bars like chocolate. I wish I could recall the name.

When you are a bit older you may well fall asleep before the early option and thus the late option! The joy of being older is that you can get up as early or as late as you like.

Just bought a Ninja Crispi. It is compact and works well for two people. It has several functions and the cooking ‘bowl’ can be taken to the table plus can be put in the fridge.

It has been available in the UK for decades. When we moved to France forty years ago we couldn’t find any. We could buy corn cobs straight from the farm when we lived in Connecticut, they were the best. Happy with ones we bought at the Grand Frais.

We grew some in Touraine. If I remember rightly the plants need quite a lot of water.
