100% correct! This is not like “defend the police.” ICE and DHS were a George W. Bush right wing over-correction from 9/11 and they ALWAYS represented an erosion of civil rights- destined to lead to right where we are now. Put the functions of ICE back under INS and US customs.
No. We don’t need to “modify ICE training.” We need to close DHS. Dismantle it. It’s an outdated expensive bureaucracy that’s been usurped by violent white supremacists. Shut it down.
