I like that analogy! It seems like I need to start with pantsing to get myself excited about the characters but then I’ll hit some key character moment and realize I never did any setup because I wasn’t anticipating it. So then I make that moment the plot point and go back to write towards it.

Since diving into the writing world I've learned this concept of being either a "pantser" or a "plotter." I definitely thought I wanted to be a pantser until I pantsed my way into a corner and now I'm drawing maps and writing character backstories like a nerd. So that's me. What's new with you guys?

I used to really stress about having a consistent sound to my music incase someone followed a track back to my profile and hit “shuffle all” I wanted them to have a consistent experience to the track they initially liked. But 8 million+ streams later I realize, nobody cares and I can do what I want.

I’ve been quietly working on a new album of original beats for the last while and I find I’m split between two fairly different sounds with either an indie house vibe or a retro-future ambient beats thing. And I’m not sure if this really works on the same album or if these need to become two albums.
