Vincent Chan abused multiple children in the North London nursery where he worked. It’s one of the most harrowing child abuse cases in recent history.

The billion-dollar chain that ran his nursery has a history of major safeguarding failures, including not doing background checks.

Vincent Chan just pled guilty to a litany of child sex offences he committed at the North London nursery he worked in, in one of the “most harrowing” cases in recent history.

But we found that the multi-billion dollar company that ran the nursery has a long history of serious safeguarding failures.

The Thames & London deserves a lot better. Must read horrific investigation by @andrewkersley.bsky.social for @londonermag.bsky.social into @londonportauth.bsky.social. Lays bare literally 'toxic' culture in org. I've had couple of work encounters w PLA officers. Not a constructive experience IMO.
In August, 25,000 kilograms of ‘toxic’ tar was spilled in the Thames. Why was no-one told?

For years there's been one London landlord I've heard whispered about non stop from charities and council officers alike.

I decided to investigate him for @londonermag.bsky.social
He's been jailed, banned from being a landlord and one of his cramped homes (almost) received an all-time record fine after inspectors found mushrooms on the walls and tenants using camping stoves to cook.
