In an effort to streamline the mechanics of grant making we have been developing a shared approach to due diligence–the risk assessment aspect of funding, determining whether an organisation can responsibly hold, manage, and spend a grant.

It is estimated that it costs civil society of £900m per year to apply for funding. Large organisations spend around 5% of their resources on fundraising, whilst for small and equity-led organisations it can be closer to 20%.
