tech wise: the use of full motion video, 32-bit backgrounds and sprites etc. it is sort of similar to 2k3 in creation: someone could recreate arc in 2k3 sans battle system - that's all I know. I didn't get too far in it. I got the collection late and rebought some entries for PSP. it's interesting.
one of the 1st jrpgs on PS1 1995, one of the last PS1s by working designs in 2002. WD fought tooth and nail with sony to release. 1st game you're a hero, 2nd game, arc is a criminal, u play as the guy chasing arc. non-spoiler making of video, gives a good run down of gams, probably watch it first.
Keroootaannn!! (I miss the online voice pack for mgso2 every day)
Me, when I try to open ports to play co-op SNES games online. 😆❤️
That's wild, I didn't know tablet's existed back then. Those must've cost a fortune. I remember seeing computer touch screens in the 90s, in museums and stuff for like nature exhibits, in Ottawa. But not tablets with the pen and everything. Thanks for sharing this. 👍🥇❤️
Man, I'm sorry but, Adam loved Ninja Gaiden, they gave it a 5/5 in the style of a Sonic 2 infomercial. They got all the best clips in it too, it was a great review. They loved Itagaki. Did you see the G4 icons interview? Go check it out youtube, they genuinely tried to make him a star.
Oh man. Miss the guy already 😫. I loved Devils Third. Watch it jump in price. Grab it while you can. Devils Third was a colossal failure. But it definitely wasn’t a bad game. Just severely underwhelming compared to his other games. Honestly I’ve played worse. RIP legend. ✊😔🪦
I picked up Devil’s Third because it is bad - real talk, it’s not terrible, it’s fairly decent just very underwhelming compared to his previous works. But what makes Devil’s Third stand out is how certain it is in it’s own convictions. There is nothing else like this game. Def worth another look.
Holy shit what? No way! Omg
😩😭🪦❤️
Just make sure it's reliable. official devices still work. I bought a Chinese GBA that played MP3 files and had TV out for 200.00, so i could play Mother 3. Was great when it worked. This was back in 2015. One day it just refused to turn on. I've never been more upset about a device failing on me.
Earthbound? Would watch. Bought it back in 97’ when friends said I could’ve bought 3 PS1 games with the money. It’s been absolutely wild to see it grow in popularity over the years, when I was made fun of for liking it. Also, sry i missed Ace Attorney last night 😩. Will tune in next time. 👍🥇❤️
wait what? Mobygames uses emulator screenshots?
Thing, you guys should know this cause of the magazine stuff. PSXtreme I think gave Busby 3D a 93/100? They gave it a "Gold X" award. I think they also gave contra legacy 90ish out of 100 as well in the same issue? Probably not a terrible game when released...But ya, it's no mario64.

I remember trying to explain this to a friend back in the 2000s. That feeling, the momentum carries as you hold down B and how that carries through to the weight of the jump is everything. No other game has been able to match how well they did it here In the original. 👍🥇❤️
NewZealand Story is great. I played that along with GangWars, street fighter 1 and pole position at a bowling alley near my house. NewZealand Story had a really weird fake ending too, I think near the midpoint . I never forgot those games 👍🥇❤️
After you beat the first boss. You unlock an ability to move across water. You know what they call it? Doom Surf. 🤘😆❤️🥇😎
@alizephyra.bsky.social where’s Ali? Ali! Have you played through shadow generations yet? Its half off on steam right now I think? I’m playing through it right now, it’s like sonic meets spider-man, meets the hub world from kirby’s adventure. It’s absolutely wild! u played jak2 so u might like this.
Time Crisis, Soul Blade, Tekken. less graphics but more features in PS1 port. Time Crisis 2 PS2 had more polygons, but came out years later after arcade release - if there was a turning point, it was gradual, but could be when 3D arcade games when released, costed $1.00 vs $0.25 for 2D, in mid 90s.
ya, similar response: Virtua Racing 92, Virtua ON 95 and later PropCycle 96 were $1.00 when they came out. Home ports were difficult and often exp could not be replicated. stuff like DOA, Spawn and Gauntlet legends were identical to arcade. War Final Assault 4pl co-op FPS arcade, 1999, no home port.
semi-unrelated. but it almost looks like the title screen for rpgmaker2003 games, great photo. 👍🥇❤️
holy fuck dude, so much this - I remember playing FF13. I was like "what is this, this isn't final fantasy". and then I saw the intro to Lost Odyssey on youtube. Dude we were robbed 🤣🥇❤️
AVGN as a concept is great. All of it is worth following because, it is absolutely crazy how he never became more successful than it actually is, despite all the work James has put into this. But yeah, doesn't excuse the deranged bullying tho. The more recent eps are good tho. Indy was good. 11/10.
This. James wants to be a film maker everyone followed this pretty closely and were similarly disappointed when this didn't work out. AVGN could be really great, but he just sort of falls back on what he knows because it's all he knows? The more recent episodes are really good tho. Mike is a legend.
