We both had to walk away.

They don’t know my name. They don’t know that I have a loving partner and 2 cats. They don’t know that I’m a musician, a lover of reading and fantasy.

They know nothing about me and yet I could see in their eyes how much they despised me all the same. It’s as heartbreaking as it is terrifying.
