Thank you Em - your appreciation appreciated!
Thank you! They’re oystercatchers that flew up as I approached them, I love watching them running in and out with the waves.
We were sharing some thoughts about Harris here recently and I realised I’d not posted my favourite from one of my first visits - Rain Clearing Luskentyre.

It’s fabulous under any conditions isn’t it? One of my real old favourites is with fog. I’ve never been in the warmer months but seeing rental costs now we’re going to South Uist next year for the machair in flower.
It was your recent shots made me dip into my last visit pics - it’s very popular now but that’s because it is so very beautiful.
Oh a beach, some waves, a camera - anywhere good, Harris heaven!
The ever fascinating Luskentyre, this time at very high tide.

Much sympathy Sophie - our daughter’s flat was badly flooded two nights back when her upstairs neighbour left a bathroom tap running while he went for a 3 hour walk at night! Just does so much damage doesn’t it?
I’m very pleased that we’re going to take a week of RandR in Devon next month - this one from our last trip SW is of St Michael de Rupe on the edge of Dartmoor. Look closely and you’ll see a ewe, plaintively calling for her lambs. She found them in the other side of the church

Toby’s mate was dark, there’s a fabulous big print of the pair of them hanging in a cottage on the Seilebost side, which was where we first came aware of them. The mate died a few years back now, we first saw Toby in the flesh back in 2022 and he alone then. So glad he’s still there!
Oh is he still ok! We stayed with Toby a couple of years ago (ok, his humans) and he was pretty arthritic then. He’d come with the chickens and duck to say hi every morning. Makes a lovely picture doesn’t he!?
Wow - that’s a goody. I love those curvy white lines on the black Sophie, would make some great detail shots.
Thank you! It is lovely and it’s a very easy site to get to, which is a bonus. There’s a good pub in the village too
It’s going to be a while before we can get back to any falls as Mr B’s new knee shapes up, so here’s the splendid Cauldron Falls from a while back for #WaterfallWednesday this week

Some spreads from the book.
A friend has just reminded me of Beer, in Devon, which we visited off season when it was rather lovely in a melancholic way. The English seaside has a particular charm off season!

Oh that made me smile Mick - although I confess the response ‘or grouse’ flitted through my mind
Oh that’s lovely Mick! We’ll be back that way next year, hopefully when Mr B has two functioning knees again…
It’s the Devil’s Punchbowl for today’s #WaterfallWednesday in lovely icey conditions
