5/ My favorite framing from the talk:

MCP in 2026 ≈ REST APIs in 2010

Same forces (domain, trust, ownership separation), but the margin for error is smaller when your caller is a non-deterministic LLM.
February 2, 2026 at 4:28 PM
4/ - Operating MCP beyond one server: composition patterns, gateways, contracts and versioning, safety guardrails with risk-tiered tools. This is where the REST-to-microservices lessons really apply.
February 2, 2026 at 4:27 PM
3/
- Production patterns from day one: security, input validation, testing (including LLM evaluation and prompt injection resistance), observability
February 2, 2026 at 4:27 PM
2/ The talk covers three things:

- Design choices through a concrete example (RAGmonsters): generic vs custom, and why using all three MCP primitives (Tools, Resources, Prompts) changes everything

🧵 1/ Just gave my talk "MCP Servers Beyond 101" at @jfokus in Stockholm. Really happy with how it went!

Conversations afterwards confirmed it: the community has moved past "what is MCP" into "how do I build production-grade MCP servers."

Yesterday at @FinistDevs, I talked about how PHP has evolved beyond the old days of unscoped includes and global namespace chaos 🌪️→🚀

Whether you code in Java, JS, Go, or Rust—PHP deserves a second look. JIT, union types, vibrant ecosystem.

If this is 700M params today, what's next year look like?
We've seen this: mainframes → PCs → phones.
I firmly believe we're watching it happen with LLMs.

Setup: Apollo app (liquid.ai/apollo) - free, 1 min to install on Android/iPhone. Just download, select model, done.

Not claiming it replaces GPT-4 or Claude. But first sub-1B model where I thought "this is useful" not "this is promising."

The efficiency jump is wild:

- 20x smaller than my laptop model
- <1GB RAM vs 16GB
- Milliwatts on phone NPU vs watts on laptop
- Zero latency (no cloud round-trip)
- Zero marginal cost
- Complete privacy

Context: I've been running a 20B param model on my MacBook (needs 16GB RAM). Works great. But that's a laptop.

I'd tried smaller models before. They were toys.

This one (LFM 2.5 700M Thinking) isn't. It reasons. It helps with code. Runs entirely offline.

I'm running a 700M parameter thinking model on my Motorola G55. Under 1GB RAM. Tens of tokens per second. Actually useful for real work.

Not "aww look it tried" useful. Actually helpful.

Almost 20 years ago at a party I excitedly told friends "I have internet in my pocket!" (first Android phone, G1). Everyone laughed. My girlfriend said normal people use paper agendas.I still remind them of that moment.

This morning I got that feeling again 🧵
