Rebellions are built on hope.

We are the Ghor. The galaxy is watching.

The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil.
I really don't like Sydney Sweeney as a person, so I really didn't want to like her in The Housemaid, but alas. She has been good in the couple things I've seen her in.

We made a fairly spontaneous decision to go see a matinee of The Housemaid today and I'm so glad we did. I have read the book, Sean has not. It was extremely entertaining and we had a blast. Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney are both very good, and they are especially good together.

Ugh, I kind of wish I didn't, but I want to see The Housemaid.

Watching Black Christmas 1974 (again). We watch it about as many times a season as we do Home Alone. It's a holiday staple for us. 🥰🥰🥰

This is the only redacting that I find acceptable. Needs to be redacted more actually.

I still religiously watch the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special every year.

Every store keeps boxed Velveeta in a different spot.

The large Chicago-based pizza chain that makes my favorite incarnation of deep dish/stuffed pizza just started making a tavern-style pizza, so we tried that tonight and it will be the last time. It was one of the most disappointing things we've ever tried, and actually kind of baffling?

Been really fucked up about Rob Reiner. Just watched When Harry Met Sally for the first time and wow, that was wonderful. My heart hurts. What a tremendous talent and gift he was.

We're finally about to have a long stretch of mostly above freezing temperatures and I am so ready for all the ice and snow to start melting.

Tonight is a good night for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I got myself some little almond tart cakes from Whole Foods to have as a treat for being such a good adult and you better believe I will be rewarding myself with little treats for the rest of the week for getting through my first colonoscopy.
December 17, 2025 at 12:52 AM
I'm very relieved that it's over and I'm proud of myself for this bit of adulting I did. I also had a delicious reunion with solid food in the form of a club sandwich and soup from one of my favorite places. 🥰

Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy went very well and nothing abnormal was found. 🙌 They are doing a couple biopsies to see if there's any other reason for the iron deficiency, but I don't think there's much concern. I follow up with the doctor who referred these on Friday.

Sean told me I seemed to be in good spirits, and I guess I am. A day off work is a day off work even if it's going to the hospital for a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. 😂 I did take tomorrow off too because I have another doctor's appointment around lunch and I just wanted to be off again. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Baby's first colonoscopy today means yesterday was baby's first colonoscopy prep day. Overall it was easier than I thought it would be, but it definitely wasn't pleasant. You can't even have the good flavors/colors of Jello. 😅 Anyway, I'm so hungry and I can't wait to be reunited with solid food.

I could use some good thoughts or vibes today. I am having a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy (my first time for both). My PCP referred me to a blood specialist for high platelets and determined I have an iron deficiency, so these procedures are to make sure there's no internal bleeding causing it.

We had a great time watching Home Alone accompanied by the CSO this afternoon. Once the choir started, I was kind of a mess! It was magical. And then we followed it up at one of our favorite pizza places. A lovely tavern style cheese pizza just for us.

We are getting ready to go downtown for a matinee performance of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing the score to Home Alone alongside the movie. We always love going there, but we are super geeked out about this one because it's one of our favorite movies (not even just Christmas) AND scores.

Die Hard tonight it is.

My dad told me we've gotten more snow so far in the last few weeks than we did all last winter. It's been real gross out there. 😬
December 13, 2025 at 3:31 AM
There will be no season 2 of Welcome to Derry for me, lol no thank you.
December 13, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Christmas movies I still need to watch before Christmas: Christmas Vacation, Black Christmas, Die Hard, and Terrifier 3.
December 13, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Welcome to Derry is quite bad with atrocious writing, but the fleeting glimpses of Bill Skarsgård being diabolically delicious are sustaining us (barely). Fair warning, he doesn't show up until episode 5, which was way too long.
