For #Caturday I present this little orange shrimp in his new favorite box 🍀😸
As parents, I feel that most of us make the best choices we can given the circumstances we have. Personally I am just grateful my kids never had to go to bed hungry the way I did growing up, and that they never struggled with ARFID.
Before all that, I managed an apt complex when they were little, most meals were scratch, it was wonderful. Ended through no choice of mine. Landlord sold to a management company.

By the time kids were 10/14, my health started going downhill despite decades of healthy food, yoga, etc. 3/
Later, it was up 5:30, 30 min drive to drop kids at school, 30-45 min drive to work, back to pick up kids, 30 min drive to dance, 45 min drive home. For a few years, one kid had to be at dance 6 days/wk. We moved across the street from the studio. 2/
Yeah, for us, it was more like H started work at 5am. I got up 8am, homeschooled 2 kids while also preparing breakfast, lunch, and cleaning house. Dropped kids off with H at his work, drove to my work. Got home 10pm. 6 days/wk for me, 5 for H 🧡
Also, you can buy individually packaged foods in bulk, as in a bigger box with many packages items, where each individual item costs less because you are buying so many.
Well, say what you will. I was only trying to point out that we don't know everyone else's struggles and a little understanding goes a long way. My nearest Trader Joe's is a 90 minute drive one way. Chronic illness affects my ability to cook. Everything is a choice, but not always an easy one.
I made mac n beef using limited edition Campbell's Condensed Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup 🍲☺️ #foodsky #homecook #comfortfood #americanfood #food 🍽️🍜
Applesauce can be bought in bulk and stored for longer. We also have food deserts where it is difficult to find fresh produce without a long drive. We have deep, cultural problems with food here. I could go on and on about corporate greed, subsidized crops, etc. Just saying it's harder than it seems
If we could fabricate time out of thin air the world would be a very different place. What would you ask someone to sacrifice in order to have time to prepare a nutritious home made lunch for every school day? Assume a 12 hour work day 5 days a week between both jobs. Add in 2 hours/day commute
Flashback to a 2013 vacation in Carlsbad, California. Breakfast at the Bricks Family Restaurant in the Legoland Hotel πŸ˜‹ #buffet #vacation #foodsky #food #diningout #breakfast #fbf #travel
Sausage, which gives him the same name as one of our cats 😹
Jet Tila, nice! I haven't watched one of his videos in ages. Thanks πŸ˜„πŸ§‘
Yeah, I remember seeing TikToks about that when it happened 😰
Looks really delicious πŸ˜‹ I feel like the frozen ones I have bought are usually kind of dried out. Your filling looks moist and fresh. 100x better than the frost bitten ones I have had in the past. Now I want to try to learn so I can make them gf πŸ˜† I really miss them 🀀
Wow 😯 Thank goodness
You know, it was honestly pretty tasty. I still think yours looks better, though πŸ˜† I love Bluesky, but the food envy is real πŸ˜‚πŸ½οΈ
Too many of us working multiple jobs (=no time to prep/cook), just to survive, and we still can't afford decent quick food. Plus, those in power care more about making money for themselves than providing decent lunches at school πŸ˜– Apple sauce is affordable πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
Looks tasty πŸ˜‹
Absolutely gorgeous 😍 You made bao from scratch? That is so awesome! πŸ€€πŸ˜‹πŸ§‘
Those look incredible 🀀
Can I trade you for my open face sardine and jalapeno sandwich on gf toast that I just made? Yours looks so much tastier πŸ˜…πŸ₯²πŸ˜‹
Yes, the most important thing is that you snack now. πŸ˜‚πŸ§‘
Oh, wow, did it all turn out alright? I haven't checked the news yet
