Love it when your old college friend finds your books on the shelf of an indie he happened to pop into!

Many thanks to Emerald Coast Storytellers for inviting me to be its featured storyteller in an ideal setting: a brewery at my favorite beach!

So grateful to Christian Gullette and the entire editorial team at The Cortland Review for publishing my poem about airplane disasters, siblings, and loss. You’ll also find a gorgeous poem in the new issue by my pressmate @kalekim.bsky.social.

Had a blast at this spring’s double header: AWP2025 and The Oxford Conference for the Book. Read with some pretty remarkable folks from a great new eco-poetry anthology, met up with friends, and of course ate like an all-star! Heading home….

Many thanks to Shenandoah’s Nadeen Kharputly for her series “Small Town Dispatches” that features writers who live and work in small towns. In addition to my contribution, you can read my friend Ann Fisher-Wirth’s piece on Oxford, MS!

The Bamboo Wife was interviewed in the new issue of @sugarhousereview.bsky.social.
She’s a strutting peacock, my book, but you’ll find some gorgeous new poems alongside her!

I can never wrap a gift without thinking of my mother, who was a pro. She learned how to wrap by observing carefully the gift wrappers at the JCPenney the next town over. Holidays were important to our immigrant mother, who always strove to get them right. Merry Christmas Eve! 🎄

I have wanted to be published in Poetry Northwest since I started writing poems 15yrs ago. Thanks to the whole editorial team! I’m honored to have my little poem brushing shoulders with the work of some of my favorite poets. The new issue is a beauty—get one for yourself! ❤️🙏
