Lucinda watched as he walked in and offered him a smile.

"Please, take a seat. You have nothing to worry about, myself and my team shall take care of you and your needs." She reassured him.

Lucinda smiled warmly as she sang in unison with Alfira, enjoying the company. Her confidence through the roof. The crowd was cheering in pleasure from the beautiful sounds. This was all Lucinda needed: peace, music and the right company.

Once Lucinda had finished performing, she settled her guitar over her shoulder. Feeling exhilarated that people loved her performing. She shook a few hands and then made her way throughout the crowd, mingling with anyone that wished to speak to her.

"Well, sure!" She smiled sweetly.

It was a bigger turnout than she was used too. However, no one could bring her down. Not when she was alive with music and stories.

Lucinda sang alone and with her own instruments. The music kept her heart beating. You could take her name, her home, but you could never steal her music. Even if you took her guitar.

Lucinda strummed her guitar and nodded toward Alfira.

"Aight." Lucinda said to her assistant and sighed. "Call him in here and let's see."

The assistant went to go and ask to Scott to come in.

Lucinda kept herself busy by looking over Scott's portfolio and notes. Everything seemed to look good and organised.

She was ready, to meet him.

Lucinda can be found out of the streets of New York, performing for all to see. Her speciality, when she's not acting, is rock music. And the smiles on people's faces? That's what keeps her smile warm and her passions alive.

"Sup, New York! Let's have ya!"

A brief moment of silence passed.

She then spoke. “Hi.” Her tone was soft. “I could deserve how I look, should you want.”

+ Lucinda arched a brow. Local guy? That was rare. Most were LA transplants, polished within an inch of their lives. This one — whoever he was — probably walked in with coffee stains and too much modesty. Not that she minded. At this point, she was desperate for someone real.

+ Another dud. The last actor had barely made eye contact, too caught up in his own reflection off-camera to give the scene any weight. Lucinda had tried — god, had she tried — but even she couldn’t fake chemistry where there was none.

She tugged at the sleeve of her oversized sweater, the fabric soft against her wrist, and leaned back in the director’s chair, letting out a sigh only her assistant might’ve caught. +

The audition room was cold. Always cold. It was as if they had deliberately cranked the AC to keep the nerves alive. Lucinda had been in and out of studios like this for years, but today felt different. Maybe it was the silence in between +
