Thank you
The Reform candidate in Gorton and Denton is backed by Tommy Robinson.

His campaign team includes those with extreme, racist views. My letter calling on Matthew Goodwin to reject their support. 👇🏻
February 15, 2026 at 11:37 AM
Huge numbers of Labour activists out today in Denton, Burnage and, with me in Levenshulme, @edmilibandmp.bsky.social @andyburnham.bsky.social, Angeliki Stogia, speaking to progressive voters who recognise that only we can stop Reform across the whole constituency.
February 14, 2026 at 5:01 PM
The stakes are really high in the Gorton and Denton by-election. Manchester gave birth to the trade union movement, home to the suffragettes, grew the coop movement. A city built on equality and community spirit.

Only Labour can stop Reform’s Tommy Robinson backed candidate.

Great to speak at @unison.org.uk Women’s Conference today alongside @andreaegangs.bsky.social.

I spoke about the change we have achieved together, the strength of the union link and the threat women face from Reform.
February 12, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I will be sitting alongside Keir Starmer at the PLP this evening as Deputy Leader with my full support.

He & I have been discussing in recent days, & before, how we need to do better to take the fight to Reform (as we are doing in Gorton & Denton) & by showing we are on the side of ordinary people.
February 9, 2026 at 3:39 PM
This by-election is bigger than day to day politics. It’s about stopping Reform’s toxic politics coming to my city. The Greens misleading claims, dodgy bar charts & briefings risk letting them in the back door. Only voting Labour can stop Reform. My letter to Green Leader @zackpolanski.bsky.social 👇🏻
February 6, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Reform’s Matthew Goodwin’s big idea would punish millions of women and strip them of their basic dignity to choose.

Even more dumfounding is that Nigel Farage appears to agree with it.

This is the kind of divisive politics we must stand against.
Reform by-election candidate suggested people who don’t have kids should pay more tax
Exclusive: The Reform politician’s suggestion would ‘punish millions of women and strip them of their basic dignity to choose’, Labour’s deputy leader warned

Another day another doorknock!

Lots of Labour teams out including Tribune Group MPs and other MPs. A great reception on the doors in Gorton.

Remember, the only party that can beat Reform is Labour.
February 5, 2026 at 4:37 PM
Our affiliated unions keep Labour in touch with workplaces and the everyday concerns of workers. Thanks FBU Gen Sec Steve Wright for inviting me to attend the @fbunational.bsky.social Executive today, to listen to reps and take lots of (tough) questions
February 4, 2026 at 8:57 PM
I am proud to have voted tonight to lift children out of poverty in Manchester Central and across the country by scrapping the Tories’ two-child benefit cap, which pushed tens of thousands into poverty every year.

Labour values in action.
February 3, 2026 at 7:41 PM
Most people know, it’s only Labour that can beat Reform in Gorton and Denton.

Labour in Manchester is delivering - better buses, more social housing, more GP appointments, more police on the beat. 👇🏻
February 2, 2026 at 4:32 PM
Great to have @andyburnham.bsky.social out today giving his full backing to our brilliant candidate Angeliki Stogia for Gorton and Denton.

Andy was clear - we are united against the division of Reform. He wants people to vote Labour to keep them out of Manchester.
February 1, 2026 at 6:15 PM
Delighted that Angeliki Stogia is Labour’s candidate for Gorton & Denton by-election.

She’s a strong Mancunian woman with Labour values & a record of delivery.

All our doorstep work is clear, only Labour can win against Reform. Don’t risk voting for others.

We chose unity & hope over division.

Good to get an update on the new housing and regeneration on the Grey Mare Lane estate with Councillors Irene Robinson & Gavin White.

After many years and false starts it was good to see progress.

I will continue to work to ensure owner occupiers get the retrofitting they were promised.
January 30, 2026 at 4:30 PM
Big team out in Burnage this morning for the Gorton & Denton by-election.

A really positive session with lots of Labour posters and garden stakes going up!

Remember, a vote for anyone but Labour risks letting Reform in.
January 29, 2026 at 5:35 PM
Only Labour can defeat Reform in this by-election. A vote for any other Party risks letting them in.

Manchester is proud of its diversity. Together we must stand against Reform’s division and hate and elect a local Labour MP who will stand up for the values we share.
January 29, 2026 at 2:10 PM
Only Labour can defeat Reform in Gorton and Denton. A vote for the Greens or any other party risks them getting in.

We are a tolerant, proud, progressive city and we don’t want their divisive brand of politics here.

As promised, Labour is today publishing its huge and radical leasehold reform plans.

Including, capping ground rents at £250, eventually moving to peppercorn. All the measures announced later today.

By his own actions, time and again, Nigel Farage has shown he’s no champion of ordinary people

Nigel Farage branded 'Thatcher's heir' by Labour deputy leader Lucy Powell
The Labour deputy leader will tear into the Reform UK leader at the Fabian Society New Year Conference, and describe him as the love child of the former Tory PM and Enoch Powell

Great to deliver my first keynote speech to the Fabian Society today and speak to @ayeshahazarika.bsky.social

I talked about how Labour is rewiring the country, taking on vested interests to deliver the change we promised whilst Nigel Farage is for the failed economic status quo
January 24, 2026 at 1:32 PM
Delighted to join @heidialexander.bsky.social @andyburnham.bsky.social & GM leaders for the signing of the concordat between the Government & GM on the huge commitment to NPR, including work on a through, underground station at Piccadilly.

It will be a game-changer for connectivity in the North.
January 23, 2026 at 11:27 AM
Great to visit the Felix Project multi bank in London with Rachel Reeves and @rupahuq.bsky.social - and speak to local families.

Labour’s budget scrapped the two child benefit cap lifting children out of poverty & made it easier for businesses to donate surplus goods to projects like this.
January 21, 2026 at 4:24 PM
I spoke to @bethrigby.bsky.social in Manchester recently about how the cost of living is the most important issue for my residents. Tackling it is what we need to all focus on.
