Would definitely implement optimization techniques as it would be a lot easier to keep track of and have them working properly from the beginning

That's one of the downsides of working on the project and learning GMS as I produced it, so now I'm having to go back and make this more optimized lol

Yep! I have an object that detects the left and right side of Greeny and then will use those positions to calculate Greeny's angle

I also rotate things like the wall detection collision mask to ensure that going up slopes won't stop the player and acting like they're on a wall

The players collision box is a square. There are a couple variations that I switch between when doing certain collision checks (i.e checking for a wall)

But they're all comprised of squares/rectangles
