I have zero desire to beat someone or apply any sort of physical violence. I have zero desire to apply any sort of non-physical violence either. In fact, I would prefer if I knew I never caused any other person any discomfort ever. If a person can be a safe space, I want to be that person.

Observation: I can keep drinking nothing but unsweetened tea, but if I decide to sweeten the tea for a variety in taste, the next unsweetened cup tastes extraordinarily bland.

The great thing about Bluesky is that I still see people post about actual coding. On X (Twitter), I practically just see people talking about "oneshotting things with Claude Code".

I spent some time with a 9-year old boy. He told me all the easter eggs that you can unlock in Google search. His favorite is the game that you can access when searching for "bubble tea".

A friend knows Old Greek, Old Hebrew and Latin. She said that it'll be written on her tombstone that "she learned three dead languages, hopefully they'll be useful to her now", and I love her humor!

Something interesting I've observed: I don't use generative AI for writing because I prefer to come up with every phrase and word myself, whether I write in English or German; but if I need the same text in both languages I will use machine translation because I don't want to do that twice.

As I copied some files to a USB drive for backup I realized that it's been a looong time since I last used any form of physical storage medium; most files are backed up to the cloud and sent around wirelessly.

I can't stop thinking about that video I saw where someone claimed that if alcohol didn't yet exist, was discovered today, and we would apply the modern standards of toxicity, the maximum allowed dose would be half a glass of wine - per year!

Music streaming services should have a feature where I can save songs that I want to remember that they exist but they should never come up when playing music randomly.

Every month Google reminds me that people - probably worried about their future prospects - search for "can introverts get married" and land on one of my blog posts where I write about an archetype that I call "the married introvert", which is entirely unhelpful in answering that question.
