Child's film education continues with... John Carter (of Mars). Always had a soft spot for this - great production design, a decent kind of Star Wars replacement in the fallout of the prequel trilogy being cack. James Purefoy (who I originally thought was Thomas Jane soz) having a blast. Cheesy fun!

I've been down this rabbit hole - voice actor hints, code repo changes, anything with the number 3 in it - it's full of empty pringles tubes and disappointment. But by god I would do it again.

Joined my son's karate class this morning - he's 11, and usually there are adults or families in the class as it's mixed ages on Saturdays, but not this day for some reason. Just me (44) and about 20 children. Plenty of adults watching through the glass, though. Stuck out like the BFG.

The increasingly flimsy magazines are the closest you'll get - a few pages of a story, cut out boardgame, a poster, and a small set on the front which is usually 'Owen' from Jurassic World (although this month is Dr Alan Grant woo!), £6 please. If you've never played the games you should!

Probably hurting my chances saying this but of all the spooky baby films out recently, Immaculate was barely watchable. The Omen lrequel was "alright" and has a bonus Finchy spotting. But Exorcist Belieber was great - really looks like those young actors are going to have some trauma issues.
