Good to know. The most I have ever seen him complain about NXT was how bad Mariah’s booking/character was. Had the entire WWE Avengers on his case for the entire day!

The way I see them growing moving forward is 12 shows per year and live Collisions every week. The product is much more focused now with only two main shows. Don’t need Shockwave at all.

Talk about low ratings/attendance with regards to AEW is the eternal struggle. I’m sure they were having a field day over on the Bird App after seeing Dynamite’s Fright Night rating.

Alvarez would probably feel better if AEW did a 15-minute video package explaining the history between Joe + Hook followed by a 30-minute promo battle between the two to start Collision.

Nice, nice. I can admit that sometimes, AEW matches do tend to go a bit long and I start to zone out but they always have my full attention for the big matches. The company utilizes in-ring storytelling and I can’t think of too many matches that was just a bunch of rest holds…unlike WWE.

First thing that popped into my Twitter feed the other day was Meltzer standing up for the Young Bucks / FTR against a well-known grifter on that platform (Alyxx) who was arguing that New Day and the Uso’s have made a bigger impact on the biz.

Cornette has his subreddit as well which is probably just as bad as r/SCJerk. I say “probably” because I’ve never actually looked deeply into the sub…but I can always tell when a Cornette Junkie is mouthing off in one of the other wrestling subreddits.

It’s my gimmick on BlueSky. Sometimes, the shit I share blows up… other times, nobody cares. I didn’t even think too much about this when I shared this post. I guess BigLaz’s reputation on this app gave me a huge signal boost.

Yeah, we both see eye to eye on how AEW presents itself in this day and age. I don't put much stock into what Alvarez says. My whole "gimmick" on BlueSky is I just post stupid takes I see on Reddit/Twitter here for the entire class to laugh at.

Yeah. It was disappointing seeing the behavior of the CEO over the summer though. Even then, I was like "hell naw" when people were talking about flocking over to Mastodon, Discord, MySpace, etc. Hah!

I have an old buddy from college who is the only IRL mate I got right now who still enjoys wrestling but even then, he only watches the big WWE shows. Hardly knows anything that's going on during the weekly shows. He's got kids and is quite busy with family/work life these days.

Copy that. So yeah, I agree with your point that it is not possible to make wrestling digestible whilst keeping things like investment and excitement in tack. I have never watched a single AEW recap show.

So to bring it all home, this is why I feel it's easier to be a casual when it comes to sports like the NBA.
