NGL between UE integrating AI into their latest engine versions and now this sort of Frankenstein mixture of adding Unity into UE Fortnite, I think I bailed out at the right moment to work on my own engine. Consolidating everything into one, hurts innovation and competition.

Started earlier this week on learning to make my own game engine. Already drawing up sketches and writing down a journal to keep myself motivated. I don't know if people would be interested in devblogs or progress on this. As it's mostly just coding and implementation of things.

I'm thinking of developing my own game engine, for Grand Reverie. I'll still work with UE for the other game projects I have ongoing but GR feels better with its own engine, its own shaders, an engine made specifically for it and not a general purpose one. It'll take years for sure.
