LRT this is why fandom actually drives me nuts sometimes. I understand inserting your own depth and themes in fanworks, I do, and I love it! But I think we could all maybe explore more non-massively advertised and non-first party/AAA media that’s more diverse and challenging in voice.

Truly begging people to just engage with art that isn't the biggest most advertised thing that flew in front of your eyeballs. Watch/play/read things nobody is talking. Think about what the story might be communicating, even if your take may not be what the creator intended. Engage with art.

i am going completely insane watching gamers make up shit about horses and interrogating every single thing the devs have said for inconsistencies and then deciding well it probably had cp in it. this is the easy mode version of the kinds of censorship that are to come and you're failing like babies

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).
hello #ttrpg people, please recommend me your favorite solo or can-be-played-solo games that are not *only* journaling and have some kind of card flipping, chance, dice rolling, or combat mechanic of any kind! i love telling a story with myself (lol) but i also enjoy some lore/gamification with it.

I bought myself a Christmas gift to break free of Amazon’s nonsense and got a Kobo color ereader! I’m really excited to be able to read all types of comics on it and I love that it has buttons ☺️🖤

“it’s just cars” I just want to know all of you are sleeping on F1 and if you’re gonna fall in love with pretty boys with nice hair you may as well also watch them occasionally crash a multibillion dollar car and have personal spats that rival anything ever aired in the mid 2000s on the CW
People with SOs, never stop sharing your passions with them. They may not enjoy it like you do. But one day you’re going to hear them in a work call comparing the current situation “is like how McLaren’s F1 drivers are a team but both want to win the championship.” And you will be SO proud.

"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information
