I really do not understand at what point we forgot that this is how it works.

The only time Article 5 of the NATO Treaty was invoked was to defend us, not for us to defend Europe. European soldiers and civilians died fighting with us and working next to us in Afghanistan. Europe was not attacked on September 11, 2001.

No we aren't all the same, Western civilisation is in a hot mess because it can't live by the values it claims to represent. A US navy ship blowing up people in the water is as uncivilised as you can get as far as international sea law and the Geneva Convention are concerned.

It's very obvious that if any other prominent politician had been so racist in school that it's haunted 20+ former classmates ever since, it would be treated like a bigger deal. We should examine how and why "still being very racist four decades later" is acting as Farage's protective shield.
