October morning mood: Pandora
Long haired black cat Pandora gazes out the window. She is rendered in black and white, with splashes of green and purple framing her lovely face.

June’s getting warming up; not at Mr. Lover level yet.
Brown tabby cat June sits atop the sofa in a patch of sunlight to get that inner glow on.

My favorite sequence at the time was the shuttle flight to the moon. I was enthralled by the thought that humans might be able to travel like that in 30 years.

“Temba, his arms wide.”
The Tamarian captain and Captain Picard share danger and metaphors on a planetary surface in the TNG episode Darmok.

I’d like to see an alliance between Illinois and some like-minded midwestern states.

Fall may not be in the air (temperature) yet, but color transformations have begun throughout Chicagoland. Thanks, Barry Butler, for the birds-eye view.
barrybutler9.bsky.social
The colors are already starting to turn in the Chicago area. Peak autumn colors are predicted to arrive in less than 3 weeks.

The graphics look pre-Canva, so it could be 10+ years old. Not a criticism, just trying to place it in time. What if you tried a search in the AATF Curated Resources under chat mats?

The DOE judged that the purpose of and functions of the international and foreign language education grant programs are not a priority of the Administration, and exercised its authority to reprogram the funds to grant programs that are a priority for the Administration. Source: WPR

I was an international student among others on a bus through the Alps when ABBA’s SOS came on the radio and we just had to sing along. 1976.

True, but taking SWS or RI to Blue Island or LaSalle St Station before changing lines is a long haul if your destination is O’Hare, Elmhurst, Naperville, or even LaGrange. I’d love a northbound line from, say, Joliet or Orland/Tinley Park.

I love this plan, but the southwest suburbs seem largely neglected. The nearest connection to points north, northwest and west is Blue Island?

Max Linder! 🎥🍿

Contributing to anti-doomscrolling with Max Linder, the sparkling French comedian who inspired Chaplin and is the earliest known movie star with his name on a poster (circa 1909).

Would Max n’aime pas les chats be the earliest poster example?
Movie poster in which a dozen or so grey cats jump out of a grand piano onto a man dressed in vintage striped pants and an olive colored coat and tails.
