New Sci-Fi Comedy One Night at Kedasi OUT NOW: https://linktr.ee/MacAshton
Pinned
One Night at Kedasi is dangerously close to breaking the top 500 in comedy #SciFi! This book follows Zip, a jaded ship captain and her best friend Tom, a 5-foot tall talking shrimp on a dangerous adventure to an abandoned theme park planet.

Fuck ICE. Fuck the dipshit in chief. Half of this country needs to wake the fuck up right now. We are so far into Nazi Germany territory, it's insane. If you're still keeping your head in the sand waiting for this to blow over, it's in Minneapolis today, it'll be in your backyard tomorrow.

Finally had a chance to watch Frankenstein. Guillermo Del Toro knew exactly what he wanted to make and did that. Frankenstein is gothic horror to a T. It's slow, dialogue heavy, and only ends when it's good and ready.

I'm not going to rush back to watch it again, but it was a unique take.

This week on Review Everything, we've got reproductive health, D.B. Cooper's disappearance, and a famous Pokémon glitch! The theme was "Things that are lost". I'm just happy I finally had an excuse to rabbit hole on D.B. Cooper.

Just signed up to write in the NYC Midnight short story challenge. I'll get a topic, character, and genre Friday morning and then have a week to write the story. If all goes well, I'll move on to do it again with less time and so on and so forth. Should be a lot of fun!

Don't let the cuteness fool you, this adorable bastard was up all night with tummy issues. He's lucky he has such a cute bug-eyed face.

Alex Garland isn't interested in making a 28 Days Later sequel, but what he did is far more interesting.

My 4.5 Star review of The Bone Temple:

I really hope this makes enough at the box office that they get to finish this trilogy.

Hottest couple's costume of 2026 just dropped. Wear this, and you're both DEFINITELY going to The Bone Temple.

Also, this movie was awesome, no notes. Excited for 28 Years Later... 3?

Well, I can stop the search, I found my new cover art. No notes.
Here is a book cover draft for you, it will only be $5 for the production copy (Proceate UI Removed).

No AI was used!

Man, the amount of "artists" reaching out to help with my book cover that are actually just more AI slop is insane. The intro text they all send is almost identical. Also, there are AI image checks out there, dummies... I see you.

I had a lot of fun writing this one and I'm happy to see it's ABC Tales pick of the day!

I'm looking for an artist to help me do some pulp adventure novel covers! I'm looking to redo some of my back catalogue as well as a new one. Below is a ChatGPT image of the vibe I'm looking for, but I'd like to pay a real human artist instead. If this is in your wheelhouse, please hit me up :)

This morning, the phrase: "Diet and Exorcise" has been stuck in my head, which means it's only a matter of time before I write a short story about a personal training demon hunter.

This week, I've brought you a story inspired by the idiocy that is wartime escalation policy. I wrote this a few months ago, but it's feeling timely with our continued escalation and newfound conflicts abroad.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is the new hotness right now and I've compressed my review of the first three books into one six-minute read. tl;dr, they are mostly enjoyable, if a little overwritten and clunky at times.

Alan would like to lodge a formal complaint about his sweater. While cute, he feels it restricts his ability to primally disembowel his bear. He will not be taking further questions or pictures until the situation is remedied.

What happens when hold music gets in the way of the nuclear codes?

This short story is inspired by my hatred of waiting on hold and my suspicion that hold music will outlive us all. It's comedic, a bit dark, and takes a swipe at our dipsh** in chief.

Watched The Running Man last night. It's a bit disturbing that this out there, popcorn, sci-fi movie feels so close to existence. The book was pulp and meant to be a caricature, but it's feeling closer and closer to reality every day.

That said, it's great, I recommend it. Colman Domingo rules.

Playing through #Pokemon Z-A. The gameplay is great, the UI is clunky as hell, and the story is really rough. I would love:
1. Box optimization so you can easily sort, compare, and release mons
2. Less, better dialogue. I spent too much time watching my character eat 😂
3. A bit more freedom
