I actually just got a shirt I ordered from you this morning. Had multiple people asking “are you Evil MoPac?” Your cult is strong around town.

And now that the confirmation that I've got the basic fundamentals around the platforms down, it's time to get move on to Solutions Architect and focus on actually applying them.

The interesting thing about getting layed off with a reasonable-ish severance, is you get some time to actually focus on things you find interesting.

I've spent almost two decades doing on-prem infra work. Translating that to cloud really does require learning a whole new vocabulary.

Being unemployed has given me time, and motivation, to get some of those professional certs I'd been pushing off. Initial Google Cloud one secured, now to get its AWS equivalent.

Senior IT Analyst & Custodian of the Lost SOPs is about as serious of a job title as LinkedIn deserves, right?

Anyone know if being mad about politic pays well?

Y’all, turns out the 9:15 AM meeting with a hidden guest list—scheduled the morning after an ominous restructuring email—was not, in fact, about a promotion.

Eight years with one company is a long run in tech. During that time I went three for four in dodging major layoffs—a pretty good average

If this wasn’t an immunocompromised child who couldn’t receive the MMR vaccine, then those parents gambled with their kid’s life—and lost. When preventable diseases kill due to willful neglect, there must be legal consequences. This isn’t just a tragedy; it’s reckless endangerment—waivers be damned.

The level of naivety displayed by these media organizations' decision-makers is truly breathtaking.

I think its time for someone, who's qualified, to start making easy to understand slides about our rights under the 2nd, just like they have for 1st and the 4th.
PLEASE: Watch what happened in Coeur d'Alene Idaho today. This is fascism. Unmarked cops. 1A violations. RESIST.

At least my Congressman hasn't forgotten our allies.
Since Putin's unjustified, brutal invasion of Ukraine 3 yrs ago, he's been responsible for the murder of thousands, the kidnapping of thousands more & the destruction of villages/towns. Meanwhile, Trump blames the murdered, not the murderer.

Silent GOP colleagues must speak out or remain complicit.

One of the first things I'd tell anyone I ever gave a company issued device: you have no reasonable expectation of privacy using this device or any of the company's services. That means everything you think it does, act accordingly.

To whoever runs the digital signage; you're a fucking patriot.
This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

It's not just you. The silence from the FOUR living former Presidents about what's happening is deafening.

Pretty sure whole journalism classes are going to be taught about how WaPo went from Woodward & Bernstein breaking Watergate to plagiarists who prioritize kissing the asses of politicians instead of holding them accountable and censoring ads critical of the current administration.

How is this a "scoop"? @marisakabas.bsky.social posted it three days ago, and wrote an article two days ago.

I'll go ahead and link it here since BezoPost can't be bothered to credit the reporter doing the work.

After reading Radical Candor and discussing it with peers, it’s clear that managers who use it to justify being an asshole probably never actually read the book.

I work at a pretty progressive tech company. I’d venture the vast majority of people I work with have no idea what goes in DC/Government; unless they’re on a team that interacts with it.

Most people are wildly uninformed about politics in any meaningful way.
