Pls Mr. Prime Minister : Keep the bridge closed, until the US Admin has been changed back to reasonable leaders, by its good people.
At this point, a new bridge may just be another access to Canada, by hostile groups, like an Armee or mercenaries.

Believe me, when I say THEY KNOW. They are more aware of it than Americans and Canadians.
The problem is, they have (world wide) a stronger party and majority than liberals, based on the unhappiness of too many people; just like when the Nazis came to power. The liberals are too complacent.
