being queer doesnt just immediately absolve you of ever having discriminatory thoughts or internalized biases. you have to actually do the work to deconstruct everything you grew up with and rebuild how you think of the world and the people you share it with by listening and learning.
im not going to lie but its a little scary seeing how many 20-22 year old queer people just have conservative views. you see it in the discourse, you see it in how they talk about queerness. they dont want to be seen as “like THOSE queers”. i know most of them will grow out of it but man….

being queer doesnt just immediately absolve you of ever having discriminatory thoughts or internalized biases. you have to actually do the work to deconstruct everything you grew up with and rebuild how you think of the world and the people you share it with by listening and learning.
