I'll happily pay a dedicated tax and/or support a bond measure if it means breaking Comcast's monopoly on Internet connectivity in my neighborhood. Internet access should be a municipal service.
It's been five years since the Washington legislature passed then-Rep.-now-Sen. Drew Hansen's Public Broadband Act and Seattle still doesn't have a plan to actually build a municipal broadband network. We should do that.
