No, laws alone aren't enough to tackle queer- & trans-phobia.

But the @snp.org are just dragging their heels on banning conversion practices.

Letting down every single victim. Allowing literal torture to go on, trying to change something that can't be changed.

@scottishgreens.org were proud to get more orgs paying the Real Living Wage when we were in government.

Because fair working conditions don't just help workers, they help families, which supports local economies, which supports everyone. #ChallengePovertyWeek

Our services should be owned by us & work for us. Private companies keep putting up prices, making life harder for everyday working folk.

The Scottish Greens will always fight for more public ownership for better services. Join that fight here:

How can some bus companies thrive while other are making cuts?

Bringing bus companies into public ownership would mean your ticket fare would go back into the service, instead of lining private pockets. People, over profit.

It works in Edinburgh, and it could work in Dundee.

Tayport travellers were "incredibly angry" at a packed public meeting to discuss bus service changes to and from the town." Beneath is a photograph of around 40 people, seated in a public meeting. Animal welfare being close to my heart, it was a pleasure to sponsor the @bluecrossuk.bsky.social exhibition in Parliament🐾

Last week I championed key Scottish Green policies like the Housing Bill, supported the visitor levy, & met with mistreated staff at the University of Dundee✊
ALT TEXT: A dark green graphic which reads 'Last Week, I...' in bold white lettering at the top. Below are four bullet points, reading "Spoke on Politics Scotland to defend the Visitor Levy as a way for local councils to raise extra income
Met concerned Dundee University staff who have lost faith in the University’s recovery process
Passed the Housing Bill, re-introducing rent controls to Scotland for the first time in nearly 40 years
Hosted the celebration of 50 years of journalism teaching at Edinburgh Napier University". To the right is an image of Maggie Chapman with two representatives of the Blue Cross.

In a year of seemingly endless cuts, now journalists in Aberdeen are threatened with redundancy.

Quality journalism is maybe more important now than ever.

I'll be closely following how STV supports its workers through these cuts.

The Scottish Gov is in denial. Proposed cuts to the fire service aren't trimming the fat - they're going to leave scars ❌

Stations could be shut down, leaving massive areas of Scotland unserved. We must stand with our firefighters, who are being asked to do more with less.

Across the world today, people have taken to the streets to stand for Palestine, and for the brave members of the Flotilla who have been kidnapped by the Israeli military.

The world stands with Palestine. Governments should catch up.

The problem isn't that there's not enough to go around, it's that what we've got isn't shared fairly.

It's a tale as old as time. Until we sort that out, energy bills will stay extortionate.

Despite the media, Scottish Parliament, & the Scottish Funding Council's scrutiny, Dundee University is STILL yet to make the changes that are needed for its recovery.

Instead of spending big bucks on outsourcing a solution, they should work with their own staff & students.

The far-right cannot tell me that they are acting for my safety. They seek only to delude, dominate, and destroy.

We will not let our struggle against misogyny be exploited by misogynists.

I am a woman against the far-right. Sign the open letter to fight back!

Unions, renters, campaigners, we worked together to make a fairer housing sector.

We've claimed power back from the landlord lobby, and we're not giving it back!

The Housing Bill, introduced by Scottish Greens, has passed!

✅ Rent controls
✅ The right for renters to keep pets
✅ The right for renters to decorate
✅ Increased council tax on second homes
✅ Support for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
👇 And more

What do we think private businesses would pay Labour £8k for? Better public services? More transparency? Unlikely.

There's no accountability with cash-for-access, but Labour seem happy to do dirty deals if it keeps them flush.

Ahead of the election, your representatives will spend many late nights in Parliament, building legislation on issues from education to justice.

Last week, I spent one of those evenings ensuring better rights for renters, & worked with constituents from Aberdeen & Dundee!

Won more time for renters to challenge rent rises & made it easier for renters to keep pets in their homes
Stood in solidarity with those in Dundee & Aberdeen standing up against anti-immigrant racism & hate
Met with constituents & Living Rent to discuss housing issues, including rent controls & RAAC". To the right is an image of Maggie Chapman MSP standing in the debate chamber, looking out as she speaks.

This ScotGov guidance will facilitate the bullying and segregation of an already marginalised group. Like trans kids don't have enough at their door.

Trans kids are not second class, not a threat, and they need to be allowed to flourish, not boxed away.

Instead of bringing people with them to believe in a better Britain for all, Labour are racing to the bottom with Reform. It is disgusting.

You don't beat the far-right by playing their games. We beat them by standing for something greater.
Shabana Mahmood vows law reforms to prove migrants 'contribute' to UK society
The home secretary signalled in her first major interview since taking over the reins that she believed migration "has been too high".
