Meet Dr Caroline O'Kelly - FMC from my upcoming debut ✨🐎

We meet her at a really low point in her life - her marriage broken down, she's burnt out in her career and, at 31, unsure of how the rest of her life's going to look like.

I can't wait for you to meet her! 🩺🫶🏻🩷

Coming this year ✨

This was absolutely excellent. What a start to 2025 reading streak.

Cooper was one of the dreamiest LIs in a long while.

I cried so much at the end but loved every minute.

Highly, highly recommend. So charming, original, funny and warm.

I FINISHED EDITS! 😭

I stopped being proud of this book last year. It felt like a story I was almost able to tell, but not quite. Like it had legs but didn't know how to run. These neck-breaking edits made me fall back in love with my OG characters.

Saturday snippet 👀 now I'm off to my editing cave. We're at 65k. Ambitious goal is to finish by Monday 🫣

Editing task: "let's extend this 🥵 scene by half a page or a full page."

Me: *challenge accepted*

Ends up with an almost 3k chapter and much LONGER scene than asked for.

Why do I have no chill lol

Me to my husband, about my edits: "I hit midpoint! Hopefully things will get smoother now and there won't be so many new scenes."

My husband: "What do you mean? It's your book. You decide if you put in new scenes."

"Don't be silly. My characters decide these things."

I realised I my characters push each other against the walls a lot when things heat up. I guess we all have our own "thing"...

Would you read a book with these vibes?

If the answer is "hell yes!" or "YES!", then stay tuned for exciting news coming soon ✨

This year, I signed with an agent & got vague publishing news.

But you know what I'm most proud of?

Writing a book out of my comfort zone and finding exactly where I want to go creatively 🩷

And not giving up. That's probably the most important one.

I got an absolute pleasure of alpha reading/CP this book and it's just wonderful - you'll in for such a treat one day soon hopefully 🥺🫶🏻🔥
A little snippet to celebrate finishing the first draft of the mother-daughter dual POV, eco-horror-romantasy novel that has consumed me for the past few months 🖤✨ #writingcommunity

And before someone asks why I hired a dev editor when I have an agent - I fully expected to query this book in 2025 & booked it before signing with an agent. But it worked out perfectly, super happy 🩷
I'm going to give another shout out to @rebeccaacarter.bsky.social because I sent off HUS to my agent and I'm so proud of this book now - which wasn't the case before Becca working on dev edits for it. She pushed me to make this story the best version of itself and just really grateful 🥺🫶🏻

The new episodes of Outlander are KILLING me. So bloody amazing - after a fresh rewatch and rather stilted part 1 of this season, ep 9 & 10 are keeping me at the edge of my seat 🔥

It was intense editing 😂 not sure if developmental was harder or the trimming - or when I had to trim enough to expand the ending. But! Victory over the manuscript tastes sweet (for the time-being)
I DID IT! 😭🫶🏻

I know authors probably shouldn't have favourites but this book pushed me out of my comfort zone, especially during editing. It is my favourite - though if you ask me in 6 months, you're likely going to get a different answer 🙈

But for now, bye bye book 🥺🩷
