I used to write a lot of comics as a kid and most of my OCs were side characters that i grew attached to and ended up being OCs. Most of those comics snd their protagonists are old memories now while the side characters are now OCs. Funny how that ended up happening EVERY time for all 13 of them.

Its funny it doesnt even bother me that its not popular. (OC art never is unless youre popular yourself.) Im just glad i did it. Thats a new feeling for me. Even in this hellish landscape of my life and my prison of a room ive managed to find something I like about myself today. That counts i think.

I've been feeling like im losing my ability to draw because my love of life is fading. Everything older that i used to make feels so much better than my new stuff.
But today I did art of my OCs that im proud of. Something that I normally default to turning into fanart so it feels like it matters.

I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive
Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

Its so funny. I genuinely feel happy about the engagement. And really relieved for some reason? I think because I dont have the tiny part of my teenaged self nagging me about 'what if.'

I did it! I finally got all the trophies in umamusume. Theres no reward for it but its fun all the same. I mostly did it for funds to get Fuji Kiseki.
