I love researching RPGs from various periods, platforms and geographical contexts in order to glimpse their history and evolution. You can find me at https://magnvsrpgjourney.substack.com/

That's awesome, I'm really happy you were able to progress past that roadblock! I really look forward to see the first dialogue translation screenshots, I have said it before but the speed at which you are working is nothing short of amazing.
That's a shame, maybe there could be other ways to contact them though? Aside from 46okumen, you could try the PC98 subreddit, or even teams focused on different home PCs like MSXTranslations since they may have some insight on Koei games that could also apply to other platforms.
Have you tried contacting other home PC-focused fantranslator groups like 46okumen? Then again, your project has advanced incredibly fast so far, it's absolutely normal to hit some roadblocks along the way. I'm rooting for you!
Awesome work, I just read your latest updates and it's incredible to see how fast things are going!
Then there's the fact it was a PC98 exclusive, which means that it shares the same obscurity as most home PC JRPGs without even having MSX2 or Sharp ports to make it a bit more notable. This also makes your translation effort even more courageous and important, and your progress so far are awesome.
Considering how often Western fans of import JRPGs tend to hype up unlocalized titles after reading Japanese reviews or retrospectives, it isn't surprising that a game that had basically no presence among Japanese fans ended up being ignored by Western fans, too.
Indeed, it's basically Uncharted Waters\Daikoukai Jidai set in space, with plenty of additional systems, a stronger narrative and more nuanced explorations. While researching it for my writeup I had exactly the same reaction, even if the real issue here is that the game was also overlooked in Japan.
I'm awestruck by how quick you're progressing, your work looks gorgeous so far.
After this event, the English patch for Micro Cabin's sci-fi horror JRPG, Illusion City, has been released by the awesome team at MSX Translations, including a ROM version that will hopefully help those who never dabbled in home PC emulation give a chance to this game.

I will try looking for the Japanese pages I found back then and get back to you, but unfortunately they were just a walkthrough of sorts and some very succinct reviews, since the game hasn't really had a large following even in its home country.

Opening cinematic done, on to the actual game now... #Progenitor #PC98
Thanks, your work on Progenitor looks stellar so far! When I wrote its retrospective back in February I hoped someone could pick it up for a fantranslation effort later on, but I never imagined to see it happen so soon given how poorly documented it is outside of Japanese sources.
